It’s crazy to think that it has been just over a week now since the D23 Expo took place in Anaheim, California. And if it seems like I have been slow about updating this blog lately, that’s because I was there! It was my second time attending the convention for all things Disney, and I went not as a member of the press, but as a fan. It was so exciting to receive all the big news about upcoming Disney projects firsthand. This includes not only theatrical films, but also Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney+, which will launch on November 12 with a slew of original content, and was the true centerpiece of the expo. It was also a time for celebrating past Disney films, with classics like “The Little Mermaid” and “Tarzan” all having anniversaries this year.
At this point, if you follow the news at all you are surely well aware of all the announcements made at the Expo already, from the confirmation (after years of rumors) that Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in an upcoming Disney+ series, to the release date of the highly anticipating “Black Panther II,” to the reveal of Disney Animation’s next original feature film, “Raya and the Last Dragon.” But I’ve gathered some of my favorite moments from the weekend for you all to enjoy. And let me know, what announcement are you most excited about?
